Solved: Another laptop purchase question please
I have looked through existing questions and I haven't really found the answer. We currently have an older Dell 640 laptop that we would like to replace for occasional travel. Something a bit lighter with a 15 inch or so screen. I know Windows XP is out of the question so we would get the new Windows 7 on it. We don't use it to play video games or do any work tasks but it would be nice to burn a dvd and certainly to watch dvds. I have heard from a retired tech friend that the Asus K60I-RBBBR05 is a decent place to look. Our budget is around $450 to $550. There are many, many websites who sell these things and refurbished might be a good idea but I need to know if we end up with a pirated copy of Windows which happened when we bought our used Dell a few years ago.
Thanks for any advise. John

Looks like office depot and staples both have a $350 laptop deal.

I would NOT buy a used laptop! There are plenty of good deals on new ones.

I ended up buying an HP G60-647NR which seems to meet our needs.
