Exclamation Brace Yourself! Site updates coming tonight...
Get ready to blame me again!!! (Just kidding... I hope! =)

The site will be down later this evening for maintenance. I don't know exactly when, but will keep you updated in this thread and also in the header, as I usually do.

There will be a lot of updating going and you'll actually see a difference. As always, some of you will like the changes. Some of you will not. I hope that one group is larger than the other. The updates are largely taken from suggestions from other members.

Although I'm not 100% sure on what all will be done tonight, here are a few hints:

<ul><li>The Announcements forum will merge into the Site Suggestions forum (we'll no longer have the Announcements forum).
<li>Hopefully, I'll be able to design a slightly smaller postbit (to give a little less whitespace on the left of each post). As small as this change appears, I've been working on it for a while... and might not get completely done tonight.
<li>A QuickReply function will be added to threads (see other posts in this forum for information).
<li>And this is the big one... the post counts will change! Posts will be counted differently (details coming soon), but also current post counts will be changed to reflect the current number of posts that person actually has with the site. This means that if the person posted before we stopped pruning old threads, their post count will be reduced to the posts actually left on the site (which you can estimate from search results). I don't believe this will be a terrible thing for anyone, but I'll be able to give more details later tonight.</ul>

10 minutes until downtime. Maybe 7 by now.

I expect it to take around 30 minutes.
