Someone just has to post something at the site I guess.
Read up on it because I don't know much about it.

The Affero link always shows up for everyone. i think Mike will have to create a hack to have it only appear if you have already registered.

Or . . .

it's a constant reminder for you to join, the manipulative wastrel!

As I understand it, everyone has the generic affero link unless they have individually signed up at Affero.
Individuals who have signed up can specify where any donation is to be sent and can receive individual feedback / rating points.
The generic link for everyone else would still allows donation (I would expect to TSG), but doesn't allow for rating/providing feedback for the individual helper.
This would suggest that the only real advantages to signing up individually with affero would be the ability to direct donations to other causes as well as/instead of TSG, and the ability to accumulate personal rating/feedback points.

Again, this is how I read the situation - perhaps Mike could verify or correct if neccessary.

Jakoval,

You nailed it. You do need to sign up be recognized for your help. We have a generic Hall of Fames at affero you can check out. Mike might want to place something similar on TSG but we have a couple cacheing isues were tying to figure out.

One more thing with affero, once you have joined you can create and customize your own affero webpage which is great but you can also place a link to that page on your website, email, blog etc.... It is a great way to give exposure to the things you care about like TSG and to build your reputation.
