- I cannot get onto the TSG site
(can only get the intro page, but cannot get into any part of the forum)
- It started happening about 2 days ago, continues still
(I haven't made any changes to my machine except clean it)
- I connect to the internet via Cable
- I use Windows ME and IE6, NS7

*** If I change my LAN settings, I can use a proxy server and then I can get in!
(A local tech told me to try ... proxy.ia2.marketscore.com & that worked)

- when I get in with this setting, I land on Server Two.

I don’t want to use that proxy server thing (scary) and I want to visit the site.

Did I do something wrong? Did I get banned for some reason?

Well that worked!

I was in a panic. I thought maybe I had been kicked out

I clean my TEMP and TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES folder out everyday (except the cookies) but sure enough, when I used the Tools/Internet Options/General/Delete Files I was able to get access without that proxy thing!

I had been locked out also for 2 days...ME & cable.
I had deleted the cookies for this site as a last resort!
I ended up sending an email asking about this problem...no reply as yet. Tried again this morning @ 5AM...still no joy...then, I tried again a few minutes ago...got the 1st page to enter username/password...did that... !!!

I am a member of 15+ other Forums...but I was having withdrawal systems by not accessing this one.

Glad it wasn't just me ilona53!
There are a couple of local sites that my own ISP has issues with and I have to use that proxy thing. I was crestfallen when I couldn't get in here and called them first.
Odd that it just started happening though. Glad it is over lol.

Hello its me.........Moonmist!!!

This isnt funny anymore......... ........Couldnt get here all weekend, Everything worked fine yesterday..........and today.......again.......cant do squat....... G and I spent the last two hours trying to get things to work. Mike....... i cant even get to the "status" link or the other one you gave me yesterday........ The problem here is alot more than just clearing temp files.

We mananged to get as far as logging in.......and then nothing, although my name is listed in the online members .......... Im not....... This is very, very, very, frustrating....... Whats going on?

I know the site went down altogether about half an hour after your post due to this darn Sasser worm... (see http://status.techguy.org/ )... Other than that, I'm betting it's your DNS. Have you tried adding forums.techguy.org 24.137.12.200 to your hosts file?

Edit: I reread your post and I'm a little confused... You can log in under this other name, but not your normal one?

LOL Moon.......sorry I know its frustrating, but couldn't help but laugh at you.

I've been having the same problem off and on for a few days now. I'm thinking something else is happening also besides temp files, etc. Dunno for sure, just a suspicion.

Was glad to see on the status page it was the Sasser worm....not glad as in glad.....glad as in it wasn't my pc acting up! I couldn't get to the site at all yesterday. For a few days before that the site was s...l...o...w...took forever to get to another page and lots of page can't be displayeds! But today all is back to normal! Take care! angel

Mike........ G helped me add the 24.137 blah blah to my host file........ that got me to the sign in page, I tried moonmist but it wouldnt let me in although my name showed up on the members online listing. So i registered as HockeyGoddes then posted here....... then everything went down.

I had no problem reaching any other site but this one, I couldnt even get to the Status page.......anything TSG i couldnt get to. Thats why i assumed the problem originated here somehow....... and it appears I wasnt the only one that experienced the same difficulties.......... so other than the DNS, any ideas??
