I am posting here because I do not find a category where questions on the mechanics of this site's operations can be posted.

When I reply to a message is posted in a (long) thread, and if e-mail notification was enabled by others who also posted to that thread, does everyone whoever posted in the thread get notification that a new reply was posted, or does just the last person who posted get such a notification?

Normally I think you should use the forum Site Comments/Suggestions.

As to your question, only the creator, the person who opened it, will get notified.

If Site Comments/Suggestions is a more appropriate forum for this thread, then I would ask that a moderator take action and move it there.

I tried that administrative action myself, since I was the originator of this thread, but it said I was not authorized to do so.
