This is a continuation of:

NFL Playoffs--Raider/Ravens and Vikings/Giants

Yeah Yeah Yeah--like I said before the games started, my loyalty is with the Giants. Lets remember the Ravens beating the Raiders doesn't mean s*h*i*t*. All of playoff teams lose their final game of the year except for one. So none of this matters unless you win the big one and there is NO WAY THE RAVENS ARE BEATING THE GIANTS in the Superbowl. So you can gloat now, but you'll be choking on it come Superbowl Sunday!!!

But before we go on lets take one more look back at the Raiders fans on Sunday. The one on the right is shell shocked, the one on the left is praying for a miracle and the one in the middle, well, he's just afraid to look and see what other embarrassments are being heaped on his vaunted Raiders. Take a good long look at their faces. You'll see the same look on the NY Giants fans faces after the game in two weeks. What am I saying, you'll probably see that look part way into the second quarter.

I'll just let the events of the past weekend on the field in Choakland determine whose heads where. And pardon the pun but the defense rests.

But enough of that. It's time for the Ravens to take their anemic offense and overrated defense and win a SuperBowl so they can be described afterwards as the worse team to ever win a SuperBowl. You know what, the national media can all blow it out their you know whats. And here's another prediction, they'll come back next year and win it all again.

You stole that "worst team ever to win a Superbowl" from the Giants owner. And by the way, the last time I looked, the Ravens were 2 1/2 point FAVORITES. So the media is now predicting they will win. It will be a whole different ballgame for them now. Let's see how Dilfer and that defense handles the pressure of being the Superbowl favorites! Its easy to get up for a game when everyone thinks you're going to lose. Now its the Giants great defense that has something to prove. And unlike the Ravens, they also have an offense that can score points as you saw in the "Mauling in the Meadowlands" last week. Pardon the pun, but you and the Giants are going to be "eating a little crow" come Superbowl Sunday!!!

The Giants don't have an offense. The Vikings just didn't have a defense. I see your still not convinced that the Ravens defense is as good as it is. The Giants will be lucky to score 6 points and the Ravens offense will put 10 points on the board in addition to the 7 from the defense or special teams. Final score, Ravens 17 and the Giants 6. Another long day for the opposing offense as it has been all year when any team plays the Ravens.

BTW, the media doesn't set point spreads, the bookies do based on the action they get on one team or another. The opening line was Ravens -1. After the betting started coming in heavy on the Ravens they increased the line to -2.5 to try and get more money on the Giants. A bettor is more inclined to take an underdog if they can get more points. A smart bookie doesn't make money by siding with one or the other. They want 50% of their bets to be on one team and 50% on the other. They make their money on the "juice" they charge to the losing bettors.

What's your point? The Ravens will be favored going into the game based on the odds makers and thats the info the media will use to designate the "favorite" and the "underdog" (they don't come up with their own pointspreads!). Make no mistake about it, the Ravens will be favored to win this game and that pressure will be too much for that flock of over-rated birds to handle and it will snowball from there:

Giants 24
Ravens 6

In two weeks, it will be the Lombardi Trophy!!!

I was just correcting your false association. There is no correlation between a point spread and whether the media is now predicting they will win. Anyway, they aren't and won't be media favorites, I can guarantee you that. I'd be surprised if one of the commentators picks them. You watch and see if I'm right about it. When push comes to shove, any NY or CA team is always the darling of the media. They stick like glue to the big market teams. But that's really not that important. The important thing is they hand out crying towels to all of the Giants fans prior to the game so they will have something to hold on to when they come to the realization about midway through the second quarter that it's over for them, too.

BTW, overrated? I suspect they could shut out the Giants in two weeks and thoroughly dominate them and you would still say they are overrated. You just can't quite get over the beating they put on the Raiders. Actually, I can understand why. It was quite embarassing on the national TV and all.

Boy I'm loving this.....

Hey, I'm not a Raider fan--never have been. I just thought they would win and they should have--they are a better team and if the Ravens and the Raidres played 10 games, Oakland would win 7 or 8 of them. The Ravens were the better team last Sunday and that's all that counts. The Giants are a better team than the Ravens (although not as good a team as the Raiders) and that means they should win the Superbowl and I believe the WILL win it 'cause the Ravens now are in the unenviable postion of people expecting them to win. That's a huge difference from where they have played the past few weeks. Everyone thinks this is going to be a very low scoring game--I think the Giants will win easily.

I'll say this, you better hope Ray Lewis doesn't stab anyone before the game. Of course, he'll probably "walk" on that one too!!!

I didn't expect to hear that from a lawyer of all people. If you had watched the trial you would have seen that every witness and I mean everyone, said Ray Lewis tried to stop the fight. There were over 15 people that testified and all said the same thing. Ray Lewis was the peace maker and had nothing at all to do with the stabbing. His only crime was after everything was done, he tried to protect his "friends" when questioned by the police, which he admits was a mistake. That's why the prosecution dropped the charges and just charged him with obstruction. And to go a little further, the thugs that died that night had been the instigators who started the whole thing by hitting someone over the head with a champagne bottle. No one deserves to die but when you do something like that you can expect there might be consequences.

Anyway, it's 12 days til the the game and I guess we'll see what happens. Either way I'm thrilled with the way the Ravens season has played out. The future only looks bright for these guys and you can expect at least another couple of years of dominate Ravens teams. This is just the start of things. Their team has an average age of 25 years old and they all love playing in Baltimore for the Ravens. That's what makes this team so special. It's a team and you don't have any self-centered loud mouths like Keshawn Johnson, Warren Sapp, Randy Moss, etc..... to disrupt the continuity. Art Modell, Ossie Newsome and Brian Billick don't put up with those types of idiots and they don't draft guys out of college unless they are convinced that they are good solid individuals in addition to good athletes. Four years ago everyone said we were idiots when we passed on drafting Lawrence Phillips and took offensive lineman Jonathan Ogden with out first round pick. Remember Phillips the Heisman winner? He's out of football now and I suspect you'll be seeing him in the correctional system in the near future. Anyway, just think if the Ravens do improve their offense. Who's going to beat them?

OK--look, I don't mind bhesson spouting about football, even though he doesn't know what he's talking about, but I don't think I should have to listen to Dreamboat talking about football--unless its what's the right meal to serve her husband for dinner on Superbowl Sunday--Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!

Watch it, mulder, or I'll have to have Mikey (or some smarmy lawyer) review your post for a Category III offense, to wit:
