There's no such thing as a stupid question, but they're the easiest to answer.

Hello, newbie here...
I just registered here and am trying to learn a few of the features of this site. (by the way, heard about this site on the Computer America show via Replay Radio). One question I have so far: I clicked on the Chat link and got into a chat room but nobody was there. Is there a certain time or schedule that the chat feature follows?

Welcome to TSG!

The Chat doesn't seem to be utilized much anymore unless the forums are having probs. If you're interested in non-tech question stuff, you may find the Random Discussion, Civilized Debate, etc forums interesting.
If you do happen to find anyone in Chat, if you have have any tech related problems or questions, be sure you post them in the Forums and not in Chat.

C5John:
A really great crowd of talented technical people reside in the forums, a bunch of fun, highly opinionated people hang out in Random and Civ. Deb. Just be careful to get in the right forum. Wear your thickest "skin" for Civ. Deb. Welcome.
