Server 2 Problems for past 50 minutes
Hi Mike,

I have been struggling for 50 minutes and finally did manage to finish posting in Security.

I had a problem uploading attachments several times. I got a page cannot be displayed. When I tried to post after Managing to get the attachments up, I got another page cannot be displayed and then finally I got in, but with no Background and a Script error.

I then could not get on the site at all. I couldn't even bring up the Status page. My other browser couldn't find the site either. I went back to Status which was up on the second try and got in through the link there.

But I still had a very hard time posting my next reply in that thread. I finally have managed to give the Poster his directions /w attachments.

LOL It just did it again here when I clicked Submit New Thread. Hope it goes through this time.

Server2

Thanks,
Katie

See Rog's post in this forum about "Server's Down?" I suspect your DNS just needs to be updated. Also, if you haven't yet, try rebooting.

Thanks. I'll do that if it happens again.

Mike could you tell me what "DNS just needs to be updated" means in plain English, please?
Thanks
Carolyn

Basically, DNS is the system that changes a text address (forums.techguy.org) into the actual Internet Protocal (IP) Address (for example, 24.137.12.228)... We have four servers that provide DNS information to your computer, and one of them died (painfully) yesterday. When it came back online today, it started handing out incorrect information. Unfortunately, even after that was corrected, your computer continued to use that incorrect information for a period of time, until it checked in for updates again.

I think I've gotten about 4 hours of sleep over the last two days... I'm going to go lie down, too.
