TSG Cookie Blocked
Hi Gang
I don't wanna sound like an ingrate, but I am curious. When I access the Tech Support Guy forums on most machines I get a "privacy report" icon telling me the following cookie has been blocked:

http://www.google.com/logos/Logo_25wht.gif

When I click on it I get a mostly blank screen with a small Google logo in the upper left corner. So my question is, what is it and why does it get blocked?

thx Tommy

Probably because it's navigating across domains, at least that would be my guess.

Thanks John, only I don't know what that means. Navigating across domains. Can you explain? Tommy

It's when a web server at let's say techguy.org tries to link to an active content link on another domain, say google.com.

I'm not even sure this is the issue, since I don't see it here. It could be something to do with the display ads, I don't get those.

I don't really know, myself... If you follow that link, the image looks pretty harmless. I don't suspect that Google is somehow using a cookie associated with that image to do any ad-tracking, but I guess it's possible. *shrugs*

I followed the link, and you're right. I don't bother to block cookies anymore, it was way too much trouble sorting out which are good and which are bad. I let the spyware scanner packages deal with the ones they don't like.
