Lightbulb Can I use "Report Post to Moderators" for...
Can I use "Report Post to Moderators" when I suggest someone to download HJT and use it or suggest to run Ewido and then after 2 days or when the thread became old, and still there's no reply of Moderators or someone who knows how to read HJT log of that people I helped, I'm very embarassed. Can I use that button to inform Moderators to take a look at that thread and try to help?

This happens because sometimes, when people who knows how to read HJT logs saw that there are replies on that thread (who needs help), they skip it because they think the user who needs help, already have someone to help him, but they (HJT experts and experts) don't know that I can't read HJT logs so they'll just skip it.

Is there a way to fix this problem? because sometimes the users that I help or what should I say, that I instructed to download HJT and other suggestions, seeks help and don't receive someone who will guide them.

I do this (instructing them to dl HJT, and run Ewido) because sometimes, these threads are becoming old (I mean, no one's replying), and need someone to reply, so I just want to make the thread to be active again.

I attached the cans that I used when helping them. If you think that I'm giving the wrong info, or if there's something wrong about the cans, please tell me and help me.

Really want to help and participate here.

jag11: Better to just bump the thread back up. Also...not all the mods are techies and know how to read the HJT logs. Another thing...if the thread starter is interested in their problem...they should be the one bumping their thread up...some people post threads with problems and never bother to reply back to help.

The ability to read/intrepret HJT logs is not the only thing that makes someone a "techie", it's just a specific skill that some of the "techies" have developed and mastered.

I always report the L2mfix logs as I can't really read them, and a mod usually replies.

As far as your fixes, you'll see that a lot people recomend unchecking some options when installing Ewido
Quote:
Download and install Ewido Security Suite
During the installation, under Additional Options uncheck:
* Install background guard
* Install scan via context menu

Run Ewido. Click OK if you get an error message reading "Database could not be found!".
Click Update on the left side of the screen. Now click Start Update.
When the update is finished, exit Ewido.

thanks, here's the new one

Quote:
Please click here to download a trial version of Ewido.

Note: Ewido is only for 2K and XP
• Once finish downloading, install Ewido.
• During the installation, under Additional Options, remove the check on:
- Install background guard
- Install scan via context menu

• Open Ewido and check for the latest updates, after that, close it
Do not run it first because you'll use Ewido in Safe Mode.

Click here to learn how to boot in Safe Mode, if you already know how, please proceed below:

NOTE: You'll have to copy these instructions in notepad because once in Safe Mode, you can't access the internet.

Now once you're in Safe Mode:
• Open up Ewido
• Click Scanner and then Complete System Scan
• This will take a while so sit back there and get some coffee
• Once the scan is finish, save the report, close Ewido, and boot back to Normal
Once you're back, post the log here so the experts can help you and guide you through
Good Day
one more question, can I just message the HJT experts if there's "no" really replying on that thread, and it became idle?

Thanks,

Jag

Please don't report threads for that reason If every thread without a response was reported.....all we'd be doing is going thru reported threads instead of being able to have the time to answer questions. We get enough reports by accident already......usually a newbie reporting a post rather than hitting the POST REPLY or NEW THREAD button.

It takes me at least half an hour each morning to get caught up on email BEFORE I can make my first post for the day And that is JUST my email from HERE, not any personal or real life stuff

I believe those would be fine. Derek mentioned that in the more difficult ones to remove - such as VX2/L2M, Qoologic, etc.
