This thread in the pic attached is solved and closed but I noticed that the link to it never goes away at the top of the main forum.

I think it should be changed.

18 topics, 11 are locked, 3 have been moved, 1 is resolved and 3 are dead = 18.

Out of the 7 that are not locked, 1 is four years old, 2 are three years old, 2 are two years old and 2 are one year old = 7.

If one of those 18 could solve another's problem just by being there...I would rate it as a valuable resource.

That's a valid point. Based on that how about adding to it and improving it?

There are more (but not all that's impossible) solutions that are commonly asked but require a lot of repetition on the boards. Moving some of those solved but commonly asked questions to the "Archive" would make the sub folder more useful.

Might also change the name from "Archive" to "FAQ Solutions" with a little note to "Check here first to see is your problem has been previously solved." and quick instructions on using the search function.
