I Wish I could but I cannot remember or find the site I will be referring to (SORRY) but anyway it was a forum with the same layout as this one. NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD mind you never judge a book by its cover. I looked around it for a few minutes and didn't understand what its purpose was moved along in my aimless search around the internet. Now I just remembered that the site did have one feature that I liked and I don't know if anybody else will but thought that I would give it a shot.....they had underneath their name inside of a post in a thread a little animated GIFS which I thought was cool caused it added a little more character to each post instead of just a user name. they were all small little gifs I think I remember somewhere on the site it said that it had to be like 50x50 pixels and under 15k.

So I was just wondering if maybe it was possible for us to do something like that here at TSG?

am I weird ...(probably) or does this idea appeal to anybody else anyway just thought that I would through that out there and see if anything happens.

BTW-with or without, this is and most likely will always be my favorite site.

Actually, believe it or not, that's on it's way. Within the next few weeks or so, we'll be upgrading to the latest version of vB (the program that runs our forums), which will allow senior members to place small pictures under their name. Also, it will show everyone's location (who has entered it) under their name like the old UBB did.

Talking NICE!!!!!!!!!
THATS GREAT I was hoping to get a response like that I just thought that it was a cool feature. So I have looked and never found it anywhere but it is stated anywhere on TSG how many posts moves you up in the member family I noticed a while back that i went from jr to member but wasnt sure when that change took place.

Also i have an after thought how this might add to the site for people like me who like the idea of the gifs to post more and try to get that picture which in turn is actually getting them more involved into the forum.

Another question..these pics will senior members be able to have animated gifs or just plain ones or both i ask caused i really liked the animated ones.

Im looking forward to the addition!!

Hmmm... that used to be in the FAQ, but I see that I lost it during an update at some point. Well, check out this. I agree with your comments about posts, although I fear that some may just post useless information to increase their count. The idea is that people who have been around for a while will be less likely to abuse the picture feature. We haven't officially decided anything about the pics yet, but I suspect that animated pics will be allowed as long as no one complains about a particular one being too annoying.

I too thought about users posting useless information but I think for the majority if they are anything like me users would not choose to submit useless post gaining gibberish to avoid looking like an imbecile it would be like crying wolf. after a while nobody would respond to your advice whether helpful or not but then again I could be wrong

I cant imagine the pictures getting to annoying as long as the pixel dimensions are limited and for the masses with 56k and under connections a limit on the file size of the picture.

after i edited this post i wouldnt let me spell check just thougt id let you know.

Thanks for the note on the spell check! When I updated the Reply and New Post screens, I forgot about the Edit page! Should be fixed now. Let me know if you see any other bugs.
