I know this should be posted in the Beta test version of vB2 at http://forums2.techguy.org/ but the problem is that I can't post there. Here is what happens:

I go to
http://forums2.techguy.org/
and click on the "Testing" thread which sends me to
http://forums2.techguy.org/forumdisp...c6b8&forumid=2

I then click on "finalizing this setup" which sends me to
http://forums2.techguy.org/showthrea...b8&threadid=19

I next click on "Post reply" which invites me to log in at
http://forums2.techguy.org/newreply....ly&threadid=19

I log in successfully to get to
http://forums2.techguy.org/member.php
where I type in my message and click on "Submit reply".

This puts me back to
http://forums2.techguy.org/newreply.php
where I am invited to log in again.

When I log in again I get sent to
http://forums2.techguy.org/newreply....4716fdd6451958
which gives me the following message in a box:

"vBulletin Message"
"No thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster"

The same thing happens when I attempt to start a new thread.

I can access my control panel and edit my options where I have "Automatically login when you return to this site? (uses cookies)" set to "Yes" and "Browse board with cookies?" set to "Yes". All the other option settings are set to their default value.

I have notified the webmaster who has encouraged me to post this problem here in hopes someone can suggest a solution.

OS: Win98SE
Browsers: Opera5.11 & IE5.0 (both browsers have same problem)
All cookies enabled in both browsers

Arrow Seems like...........
The problem is with your password and or cookies somewhere. I have no problem with the thread and of course I get the same result you do when I jump in on the links you posted after the first one which started your series but works ok for me if I start with it.

I tried sending you an email thru the board to see if it gives any clues. Let me know how/if it goes.

Bob

Bob:

Got your email message OK. It's got to be a cookies problem but since it affects both Opera and IE I can't imagine what's wrong. Tell you what: since those vB2 accounts are throw-away things for now, I'll send you my temporary vB2 password via email and you can try to post pretending you are me -- if you are willing to take the time and effort. If you are successful, I'll know the trouble is in my machine. Thanks.

Arrow Good News........
and bad news or I guess it's all in how you look at it.

I got exactly the same results when logged in as you as you did so the problem is not in your computer or location but that doesn't tell us why.

I sent an email to Acacandy thru the board while logged in as you but I would guess that will work ok. I will try sending one to me from me as you just to check.

Bob

Unhappy I got it..................
No..... not the answer but the email. I will be back and see what has developed after dark. I need to use the daylight that is left now that it has cooled down outside.

Looks like Acacandy got your imposter email and I got her reply to that effect. So email seems to be OK.
