Suggestion:
My suggestion is that there should be a sub forum in all the forums called 'Resolved Topics.' That would make it less confusing for the people trying to help, and it would also show the people who haven't been helped.

Do you mean having sub-forums in the Archives? If you had that then when something was solved you would have to catagorize the thread into one of the archives, and people might put them in the wrong place. So Mike would also have to do a small update (to TSG) so you would pick where it would go.

I also don't think that many people go to the archives. Its a good idea and i'll see what others think about it...

I meant put a sub-forum in all the forums called 'Resolved Topics'. Sorry if I wasn't clear. And all the topics that were resolved go there. Just a little bit of organization.

Just a friendly suggestion... you should wait a while and get to know TSG a little better before you make "Site Comments & Suggestions." Some people with great experience have been here for ten years... and they are not to fond of newbies who want to re-arrange the place... BTW... welcome to TSG... and this post of mine was not meant to be mean... but I've seen what happens in these cases before...

Hi and welcome.

Let me just add this, I can't even imagine the work that the moderators would have to do to move solved topics to a special forum If they did, how would you browse them? Hopefully not by thread title, as "HELP" --- or "STUPID PROBLEM" --- etc. isn't helpful in figuring out the thread content.

We can't even get everyone to mark their own threads solved yet

I just thought about that a few minutes earlier as well. The moderators would be working like crazy just to get topics in the right categories. And they would have to read the topics as well to see if their solved.

STUPID IDEA.

The only stupid idea is one not asked or brought forth! At least you are thinking and willing to give suggestions.

Welcome to TSG.

Not a stupid idea....just one with a heavy work load attached with it

Unless you know what goes on behind the scenes, sometimes, it sounds good in theory

You don't want to know what I think about adding forums Willy-Nilly, and creating a lot more work for the mods.

I have one suggestion that may be out in left field but heck i have been criticized before.

I have many times tried to do a search for a topic or problem on one of the forums and I never seem to get any results that compare to what i am looking for.

Maybe I am using the wrong key words. I know that when you set up a website there are suggested meta tags (right word?) and wonder if it would be worth putting in a sticky that would give people a suggestion on how to do a search for things on the forums or have I also missed that here too ????????????
