Forum Dictionary
Hey guys,

I was just wondering if the forums/or the website itself had a computer/tech term dictionary? You know, a place where us nubs can find everyday computer terms that we don't understand. If there is one, please provide a link because I would love to know where it is. If not, the mods should defenitlly think about putting one together.. it could be called Tech Dictionary or Dictionary For Dummies. And it would be extreeemeely helpful.

Thanks~

Webopedia and type the term in question into the search.

We think of it as the TSG dictionary.

www.wikipedia.org

Works for me!

Its more of an encyclopedia then a dictionary, but thats more fun anyway!

Great research tools, guys. JohnWill, since you're a Moderator, have you thought about moving this to another forum and sticking it there for a while. As Carnivean said this would be great for newbies (it took me a while to figure out what "nubs" meant)

Well, you could also do what I just did, add the links to your signature.

Maybe it'll help someone, maybe every one already knows the links.

Either way, I'll leave it there for a little while.

Yea those links are great.. but I'm talkin about a convenient dictionary right in the forums.. made by mods or w/e. Include everyday terms that people always ask what they mean. It could even be an interactive dictionary where you post your word and get examples and definitions from other people. Plus, many users don't know where to go or link to go when they wanna define a word that they don't understand. I have seen this concept through some other forums where the dictionary basically helps new users understand the common lingo of the forum itself. It would be a smart move and wounldn't be too hard to create.

Wow... you have a grand total of 7 posts... and you are already suggesting more work for the mod... that should make you quite popular here...

...why don't you relax... learn about this site... then, come up with suggestions to modify this forum...

...until then, hope you enjoy TSG... and enjoy your time with us...

Well, if you want to volunteer to write and update it, I'm sure that we can convince Mike to supply a link to your dictionary.

It might be something interesting to have here eventually, but I've got other things on my list right now.

Carnivean, you could just put it, a dictionary site, in your favorites and that would not add work for others.
BTW, nice pictures...
