Just updated my profile. When I first registered, I was asked the offset of the time. (something like that). I put 3 hours becasue you guys are on the east coast. Well, it put me 3 hours ahead of eastern time, thus making it 6 hours ahead of me. Then I updated my profile, and had to put a negitave in front of the three. I think something should be changed about this.

But your 3 hours behind right? Based on your comments I'll assume you want the software to take whatever positive number you enter and subtract it. If that where the case, what should the software do for people that are ahead in time? How will they set their time?

Make something like a number line. 24 numbers: one for each hour. Maybe a map, and you click on your timezone, or geographical location. Yeah, you could have a world map, and each timezone is a different color. Then, if you know where you live (you should :-), just click where your timezone is. It's that simple!

The new version of the forums (testing at http://forums2.techguy.org ) will contain a feature that lists countries in that particular time zone... Actually, when I first saw that feature, I thought it was pretty funny... After all, who wouldn't know if they're before or after Eastern?

If you want to rewrite the BB code for that page, then your correct. Short of that, you need to have the user to enter an "offset" whether it be negative or positive.

There you go, the new code does what you wanted ....

BTW, Mike, if I knew what time it was in a certain base zone and I looked at my current time ......... what's the offset to set my time in sync with the base time?

Yeah, just tried out the beta. Looks okay. Smilies resemble the ones for linuxquestions.org. I'm Colonel Panic up there. I think I like the colored smilies better, though. Oh, TechGuy, did you go to the del taco site? You can see TacoGuy (hee hee! TacoGuy insted of TechGuy. Get it? :-p) He looks like you. Just go to the last post 'TechGuy loooks like...' and go to the site. Let me know how upset you get :-).
