chat room
Would it be viable to have a real time chat room? I noticed other forums have them and it seems a good idea as a way to get people to mix better as an option to forum hopping which we all do

We had one a while ago, but it never really took off. I know I've spent several New Years Eves chatting on TSG. Having scheduled times for the chats seemed to work well. Maybe we should try that again.

I don't think I've ever seen TSG's chatroom. I think I'd be cool to have one.

Unless there's a organized chat, I stay away from chatrooms. It's way too time consuming to have a conversation with someine that types with two fingers, you spend all your time waiting on the next sentence. If there was a voice chat, that would be different.

There was a voice chat, I don't think anyone used it though.

Hope this isn't a hijack, but it seems to go along the same lines.

Is there anyway to have a real time chat with just messaging someone? Such as, instead of PM'ing someone, and it going to an inbox, you IM someone, and a pop-up comes up asking if you want to receive the IM from someone.

That way you could chat real-time with them from their profile as well. Just a thought though.

I really like the idea of having a live chat room for TSG. Would be awesome to chat in real-time with some people here.

Wow shows you what I missed seeing gone Mike. When was chat taken away?
I know you had a nice one here and it even had rooms we could go into so you could chat only with those you wanted to and no one else could see.
I remember when you had gotten it and how it crashed my PC if I stayed to long. But it was not your chat but all the chat rooms that were bad. It turned it it was the java because after a newer java version came out the trouble went away.

Hey All,

I think a "Chat-Room" would be a great ideal ! Maybe we all should take a vote on this matter (or a poll) ???

I think there's only one vote that counts, and his posting handle is TechGuy.

Maybe a chat room that was only open at a certain time would be the way to go. I made it to one of those new year chats and it was fine. (even though I'm one of those two fingers typers)
But most of the time, no one was there.
