| I dont see any problems with the Announcements Forum,I think its fine as it is and you seem to be suggesting that the administrators do all the announcements ?? I think they have enough to do already ......and we are kept up to date with the monthly newsletter.....

Im in full agreement on the above statement,if only you were moderating those forums

I've always thought you should be "Distinguished" by your length of time being a member!!
Me, for one. Civilized Debate and Random have really detracted from what this site was initially set up to do ..... provide tech support.
This site is still wonderful overall ..... but the atmosphere has CHANGED drastically over the years. | Agree wholeheartedly with you Yankee Rose in everything you have said here,we even have "Distinguished Members" who have only been members for a couple of months | | Distinguished Member with 8,570 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Florida |

I once stepped over line and was caught quickly. Mods were right.
It isn't "over-moderated" because it would defeat purpose. Its done wisely and fairly without being nit-picky.
Religion and Politic will always create heated arguements --even at kitchen table.
Regarding Post counts, I couldnt care less about distingushed members or post counts --means little to me.
I fail to see why people posting chit-chat in Random is a bad thing for example --what has it to do with the Tech forums. If someone isn't interested --why go there?.
Another thing I don't understand is --where are all the unhappy members?.
I read this forum every week and this is the spot most critical of the site and rules.
I see the same few complaining.
Again, Tech help is foundation of this site , but that by no means ---means it must be restricted to tech only.
I say , if one doesn't like small -talk , chit-chat , stay out of Random, if one is overly senistive , stay out of Civ-Deb--simple.
I fail to see advantage of removing any forum on this site -- improve maybe , but not remove. >f
