Is there a way to be able to automatically unsubscribe from "stale" threads that have not had any new posts for a given number of days? Right now, I manually go through my list every one or two weeks and unsubscribe from anything older than 2-3 weeks.

That's how I do it. AFAIK, that's the only way.
