We do not want "old" attachments removed as a rule. If you remove them, it destroys the continuity of the thread when people search and find the thread.

It's better that you can't. If you can't remove old attachments, then you can't be expected to maintain how much you upload, so you can upload an unlimited amount. I've been on other forums using vBulletin that require you to maintain a set filesize for attachments (usually around 50MB). In which case I had to constantly delete old attachments in order to make room for new ones.

The system on this site is better. Yeah, you can't delete old attachments. But you also get the benefit of not having to manage an upload size.

Tks. I did not seem to be able to edit or remove some old attachments. I wished to do it because they linked to things which no longer existed. However, if I understand correctly, it does not limit how much I can attach in future postings.

No limit on attachments here that I know of.

I am currently using 163.70 MB to store 2,504 uploaded attachments here and it is still getting bigger.

I've marked the thread as solved. Unless there is a change in the site policy, I have my answer.

I know that Mike has stated in the past that he doesn't want attachments removed. That makes sense, since it really destroys the continuity of many threads.

Darn I forgot to say how many pages it is.
Got 126 with only 4 attachments on the 126 page.
