Admittedly, I can't see many people offering "TSG is not very good" arguments ... maybe Random would be a better place for this?

Another excellent volunteer-run PC help site, Tech Support Guy (www.techguy.org) has been around since 1996. It sports a slicker design than 5 Star Support and claims about 200,000 users. The site is all about the searchable forums; you won't see as much reference material as on 5 Star.

How can the site be around since 1996, according to his profile Mike joined in 1999. This is his site right, so his join date is the date the site started, isn't it?

This might be of more interest: http://www.techguy.org/history.html

Note that when the site started, it wasn't a forum. Everyone just emailed me their questions. We started the forum part later. A server crash in 1999 caused my account (and a lot of other users') to be deleted.
