There are many forums out there for mobile device support, but thought it would be great to see a mobile devices site here. I'm betting there's not a single person reading this site without some kind of mobile device.

You might be right. Right now, they're kinda-sorta thrown under the "DOS/PDA/Other" forum -- a catch-all for old or unpopular technology. I'm usually against suggestions for new forums, but I like this one. What does everyone else think?

Listen, me going from the couch to the fridge is me going mobile, so if the remote control is in my pocket, I guess it's a mobile device too....

LOL. I have two remotes too so together with my cordless phone, I guess I'm really more "mobile" than I thought.

This reminds me of a long time ago when I was taking my "very old" rotary dial phone with the cord wrapped all around it over to my parents' place to test their line. I ran into someone I knew on the way over and I explained by saying "I'm expecting an important phone call".

Yawn. Give him an inch and he'll take a mile. He also wants a Wireless Networking forum.

I would say yes, cell phones would be included in mobile devices. Especially now that just a basic phone with no email, web or other features that used to be limited to a pc, are basically extinct.

I have a Motorola RAZR v3, and it's never done anything but make and receive calls. I don't count the occasional SPAM text messages from AT&T trying to sell me something. If I want email or web access, I'll take a real keyboard and screen, thanks.

I agree John. I don't have pictures, text messages, email or web access...I have a camera for pictures and computer for the rest...why should I have to squint for all that stuff when I have a 20" screen where I can see everything just fine.

I have a blackberry and I use it from dawn to dusk. Email, web and voice, all on one device is a beautiful thing.
