unable to edit post after certain time after creation
I made a great custom PC building post, that would provide much help to people wanting to build PCs. The problem is i was going to update the post with user-information to improve upon the post and create a great resource for custom PCs builders. As time went on, the better and more useful the post would get. I created 6 or 7 different categories, and i need to add info to them whenever users posted help. But now, since, i guess, there is a edit time restriction on his forum, i cannot keep updating and imprvoing upon a post that would be of such great use to the custom PC building members on TSG. i am pretty upset, because i had high intentions for the post and now the post will fail. Please, if there is anything you mods, or admin coul;d do about this that would be great, not just to me but the other members.

Yep, that's by design. You have a certain time to edit a post, 24 hours. From our FAQ:

You may edit and delete your posts, but we have implemented some some limitations: (1) you have only 24 hours to edit or delete a post before it becomes permanent, and (2) you may not delete the first post of a thread, as this may effectively delete another user's post.

To edit or delete your posts, click the button by the post you want to edit.

After you have made your modifications, a note may appear, which notifies other users that you have edited your post. Administrators and moderators may also edit your messages if you post something that violates a rule.

Nope, not with the present configuration.

If there's a specific reason to edit a post, a moderator or administrator can edit it for you.

Why not post a reply in your own thread?

because members would have to hunt for that post and accumulate the knowledge by themselves on their own time and might miss something or not properly put everything together

how often did you anticpate updating the original post?

you could just repost the original, in updated form, once a week or month or whatever.....your last post would always be the lastest version of the original.
