Can't send TSG email
I've been trying to send email to Mike via his profile, but I keep getting the message: "This forum requires that you wait 60 seconds between sending emails. Please try again in 60 seconds." Well I've waited almost 24 hours but still no luck. And yesterday was a first-try since several years ago. Are the emails going through or not? I don't want to spam him with multiple messages.

Can you try sending me one Oscar as a test?

Are you still getting the 60 second message? I believe it's normal for 60 seconds to prevent spam but you shouldn't still get it after 60 second has elapsed.

Yes, I got the e-mail. Did you get that message when trying to send it the very first time?

Yes. With all due respect, that message is misleading. If the email send is successful, the message should say: "Congratulation! Your email has been sent. You now have to wait 60 seconds before you send another." The existing message if ok if the second email is sent too soon.

I agree that would be a better message Oscar. Let's see what Mike thinks.

It's my pleasure. I've asked Mike to comment.

Yup, I got both messages, Oscar. I wonder if that limit and and message is something new since the most recent vB upgrade. We'll check it out and I'll reply back when I've had time to program some special access in for you.

I can't seem to reproduce that message, Oscar. Can you let us know a little more about your system (IE/FireFox, Windows/Mac, etc?). Thanks!

I think I have this one figured out. In my local proxy (Proxomitron), I use a header filter that does the following (quote from Proxomitron help file):

"Referer: Hide where we've been (Out)

"The referrer normally tells a website the URL of the last page you visited. This may be something you prefer them not to know - especially if your visiting the page by clicking a link in your email or a private message board. Much sensitive information can be leaked this way. By default Proxomitron will send the web pages own URL instead. This looks more or less normal to the server, but doesn't reveal any information. I recommend using this if you're security conscious."

When I turn that filter off, I don't get the 60-second time-limit warning from TSG.

So I can live with that. I was just startled at first because I did not know whether or not the email message was being sent. Now I know that it was.

BTW: I had to send myself 34 email messages before I figured out what was going on. During that process I got a lot of legitimate 60-second warning messages. Peace.

Well, what do you know? I just noticed that this is my 500th post. If I continue at that rate (500 posts in 8 years), I will be 82 when I get to 1000. Shall I go for it?
