Missing Spell Check button
When I click on the New Thread button, all I see are the Submit New Thread and Preview Post buttons.

I could be mistaken, but didn't there used to be a Spell Check button somewhere - where is it? I don't see it!

I am absolutely sure I used to click on a Spell Check button before submitting a new post.

Shouldn't there be a Spell Check button also not only when you click on the Post a Reply button to a thread, as well as the Quick post block? There does not seem to be a Spell Check button on the Go Advanced menu either.

I use Firefox v 2.0.0.12 on Linux, and I am sure I have used the Spell Check button at TSG with it before.

there used to be but sadly it's no more since the recent upgrade, however Firefox has a spell checker, don't you use that?

And ieSpell will do the trick for IE. Since either solution is far superior to the on-line spell checker we used to have, I think that's the answer to the question.

Hi dotty999,

Oh, I do have the Firefox spell checker toggled on, however, it does not prevent me from misspelling words as I type, nor as the old Spell Checker did - suggest changes which is what I miss the most even as the old Spell Checker could not understand what word I was trying to type and make a relevant suggestion.

The key thing is that the old Spell checker came up in a pop-up window as I recall so that it was directed at the target spawned window's text. That was nice.

I had a thread about this a few months ago.

I wasn't happy with it either.

Since losing the spell check I took on John Will's suggestion and downloaded ieSpell. Works good. Try it.

You can try PhraseExpress. It works system-wide. It will actually corrrect the words as you type (so you don't even have to backspace and correct), PLUS it works on ALL applications. Your emails, your Word documents, your BB posts, ANYTHING.

And, you can program it to remember certain phrases that you might use a lot, so that with a click you can insert that phrase instead of typing it all out every time.

I love my PhraseExpress.

What version do you have Laura? Did you get a new version, or are you still running version 3 of PE?

That probably explains the differences.
