Solved: TSG Now Censoring content?
The below comment ,"We don't condone that site is about" is somewhat disturbing.
The site is about growing marijuana, which is legal in some paces, and I don't see anything in the rules against getting help with such a site.
Has Cookie Gal exceeded her mandate as an administrator?

I would wager a bet you're IP has been banned. In any event, we don't condone what that site is about and since you are already receiving help on at least two other sites for this, I'm going to close this thread.http://forums.techguy.org/all-other-...ular-site.html

Mod me for what?
This is not my thread, and my inquiry is about whether Cookie Gal is imposing her personal standards on a reasonable inquiry.
I'm sure she's a very nice person, I'd just like to know what the reasoning is in this decision.

Marijuana is illegal in most places, however, and therefore TSG will abide by the majority of the law and not have anything to do with questionable sites.

as cookie stated, they are already getting help elsewhere with it. Just leave it at that would be my best advice.

You need to read the rules a bit closer.

Further, the Administration reserves the right to close or delete any thread, post, signature, or other content that it deems unacceptable for any reason, regardless of whether such content violates a specific rule or rules. Keep in mind that our goal is to provide useful technical support in a congenial atmosphere, which is the ultimate guideline we will use when evaluating any post or thread, or the conduct of any member.
This is a privately run board, and you don't get to make the rules to suit whatever whim you are following at the moment. And the answer to your question is no, she has not exceeded her authority.

truth in this. John....
i do have one suggestion however.....if the site in question is the reason the thread was closed, it should be deleted from the OP's post.

Cookiegal rocks.

Hughv, there's a good reason why it is called dope.

I'll let you borrow it -- since I made it

And, like has been pointed out -- it's a private board -- so no, Cookiegal has NOT exceeded her mandate

OK. She has the right and hasn't exceeded her authority.
I respectfully disagree with the decision, and that's all I have to say.
