Peace...
Check THIS out. I am training here. Cookiegal sent me here so I guess it is recommended by TSG.

Yep, that is the one that the security folks recommend. I'm not sure if there are others that are recognized, my guess is there probably are.

Yes, the two I usually recommend are Geeks to Go and Malware Removal. There is also one at SpywareInfo.

Basically, you just have to apply for acceptance to one of them. There are no classes at set times but you will work one on one with a teaching expert as they take you through the learning process from the basics right up to the most complex infections and fixes, including properly understanding and using the tools as well as registry training.

The process is pretty intense but well worth the effort to get a good understanding of what we're up against these days.

I intend to try the training at some point, if only to learn about things I probably don't have a good grasp of in the malware arena. It's just a matter of priorities.

Cookiegal, are you allowed in the malware university? Have you been there?

Being a newly qualified staff member at G2G, I must admit it is harder than I thought. I didn't realise the amount of researching and reading you have to do, in order to grasp some of the infections.

Also, its a never ending learning experience, as new infections come out daily, and there are the tools to use, but you need to know how each works.

I recommended it to anyone wanting to know about malware removal, but it does take quite a bit of time up, which is why I haven't been at TSG for ~6 months or so. Wanted my full attention on understanding it

Ahhh I'd better make sure I behave!

I think CG sent me there so I wouldn't have to bug her. There are plenty of people to bug with questions there
