Quick Link -> Unanswered Threads problems
This started happening maybe two weeks ago. Anybody else having the same problems?

If I select Unanswered Threads from the Quick Links drop down menu, Firefox (2.0.0.13) will crank for a couple of seconds and then show a totally blank white page and "Done" in the status bar. Viewing page source shows nothing. If I try to reload the page right away, I get the "You must wait 20 seconds ..." warning page. If I wait and reload, I will sometimes get the desired listings page and other times I get another blank page. It does not seem to matter what page I am currently on (usually subscribed threads) when I click on the Quick Link.

If I do get the first page of listings and then click on the "next page" or page "2" link at the bottom of the page, I get an error message page about the search term not being found.

I just got the same result in IE6. I've brought this to TechGuy's attention.

Thank you.

At first I thought I had some weird script blocking setting in a Firefox plug-in causing the problem.

Works for me -- it might be that you happened to be searching just when our index was updating, which is every-other hour if I'm not mistaken. Try it again now and let me know if you're still having trouble. Thanks!

I've been experiencing this problem too. I have to refresh the search a few times to get it to work. It's been happening the last couple of weeks.

Just tried it at 4:26 PM CDT. I had to reload the page three times to get the listing. This time I only waited a couple of seconds between reload attempts and did not get the Wait 20 seconds warning. It also took a few seconds of waiting and transferring to complete.

Worked for me, too -- just loaded a little slow.

Don't know what code you're using, Mike -- but try using this.

In 'navbar' template,

FIND:
Code:
<if condition="$vboptions['enablesearches']"><tr><td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="search.php?$session[sessionurl]do=getdaily">$vbphrase[todays_posts]</a></td></tr>
Add after:
Code:
<!-- Unanswered Posts -->
<tr><td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="search.php?do=process&replyless=1&replylimit=0&exclude=30">Unanswered Posts</a></td></tr>
<!-- /Unanswered Posts -->

Just tried it in FF, took it a few seconds to spit it out, but it came up with no prompting.

I just got the white screen again (server 5). Then after the first time, it will come up but slowly.

It worked before that when I was on server 6.

You're right onto the issue, it appears to be Server #5. I refreshed until I got Server 5 and then tried the link and got a white screen. On any other server (I've tried three), I get the proper list.

Oh Mike, we have a problem!

I'll have Dan check out Server 5 to see if he can find out why it would be different.

It is consistent doing it only on Server 5, I just tried again to see if I could repeat the issue. If you just refresh until you're on Server 5, then select the Unanswered Posts Quick Link, you get a blank page every time.

Got a blank page.

Tried it on Server 5 a couple of minutes ago. Firefox paused with the load status bar at about 50% and then completed the page with no problems. The next page link also worked with about a 10 second delay.

EDIT: Just tried again on Server 5 with the link from this page and got a blank page. Not sure if this is related, when clicked the browser back button while on the blank page, this page loaded but without my post. When I reloaded this page, my post showed up but on Server 4.

Same result here again on 5 also.

Then I jumped to server 1 and the page was rendered but it took 14.41 seconds.
