I do not swear and neither did I post to offend, and I do take exception to people assuming something that I never intended.

I was indeed giving Techguy support.

I even used that expression to my sister in law today when visiting my brother (who is uncertain of remaing in this world much longer) in hospital today.

I think you misunderstood me Villan. I didn't mean you meant to do anything other than offer support. I was simply pointing out that since this is a global community it may be misinterpreted by someone and that in all likelihood it was removed to prevent a misunderstanding.

I'm not familiar with many English expressions but I know this type of thing can be problematic at times as much gets lost in the translation, so to speak. Now that you've clarified things, I've no doubt you're intentions were good but we also have to look at how it may be interpreted by others on this side of the pond.

Another option for the bands, if you are staying with the off white ( looks like you have toned it down... getting more comfortable. The sunglasses help as well... ) is to employ alternating bands of the lighter off white ( that are in the pages box ). This would be just enough to create the separations.

Maybe bands are not an option at this point.

Now that you have more defined shades of white going on, the colors from avatars, emoticons etc. actually do pop more than the old scheme. Would be nice to see that darker border white or the lighter pages box white in the quote boxes with toned down ( 70% of current ) lettering as well.

The Khaki band and the greenish brown lettering underneath the TSG header in combo with the turquoise is looking fairly 80's ( terrific for the Reaganites out there ) and sort of lifeless. The middle tan band is a nice hue though. If you added a bit of red to the 'green' Khaki and lettering you would be complimenting the turquoise, bringing some life into the page and getting up to date as well.

Bumping the blue border a shade or 2 darker ( which may require darkening the header ) might help recapture the feel of the of the prior graphics and create a bit more intimacy to the atmosphere as well.

Just my opinions... and I am looking at this on an LG 24" and an HP 17" laptop out of the box ( no hue modifications ). Same Khakis although the turquoise is less green on the HP.

Some great suggestions there! I'll have to play around with that later. I'm heading to up to Harrisburg to see my brother this afternoon. See you all later!

Want me to educate you Cookiegal in a few well known English phrases that might raise an eyebrow or two

As it is, I am not much in the mood for arguing this through, so lets just drop it. My brother is more important than a silly misunderstanding from across the water.

Keep your p****r up. Meaning. Remain cheerful - keep your head held high

Sorry if you have the wrong understanding.
My company built a simulator computer for another division, and one day Windows would not run (endless reboot loop problem). One of their engineers sent me an email about the problem and Cc'd a couple of co-workers, my boss, his boss and his boss' boss. I sent a reply-to-all, saying it looked like the hard drive was "borked" (I assumed meaning the hard drive was messed up).

They didn't know what that was, so one of the managers looked up "borked" on the Urban Dictionary website. Then we traded another half dozen emails discussing I did not mean the first listed definition. It ended up being quite humorous.

actually the first definition "effed up" is pretty accurate. Can you post some humerus highlights of the emails?

I can't post the actual emails due to company rules. But I had a fun time explaining that I did not mean the hard drive was messed up due to their neglegence or stupidity.

I had a hunch that you aren't able to post them...
But you were implying that they are stupid just by sending them emails explaining that they're not! Sneaky

Needs some kind of border to separate each post in a thread and each thread shown on the various forums list page.

No other complaints.

I think the darkbrown post header is good enough against beige
