The background outside of message space need not be white as it is just a light source {bright }--serves no real purpose . A little hard on old eyes as compared with past .
Other than that , clean design --IMO . >f

But you have a lot less white in word and excel and ppt and etc etc

and your still not having dinner yet!

I also noticed the fonts seem smaller, so that's not my imagination?

It's horrible, the other version was MUCH easier on the eye... shan't be posting here much longer with this scheme.

Hate the search / cloud tag thing on the side too... oh man that's one HUGE waste of space!

I hate to rain on anyone's parade but all I can say is that I'm very disappointed. This looks like what we used to get when the site wouldn't load properly. I definitely can't handle all this white.

I'm not sure there's much I can say to appease Trooper, but that's OK -- there's just no satisfying everyone. I think the cloud will become useful after it's been in use for a while. I'm also hoping to add some other options to the right -- most recent new threads, for example. Although it doesn't take up much more space than the old ad-only column, the good news is that Premium Members (as well as Malware Helpers) can turn off the column in threads if it really drives you crazy. As of yet, there's no user-option for the colors, but I hope to change that someday.

Very nice and clean. But a bit hard on the eyes with all the white. Do you plan any themes or some way to mellow the background?

I like the changes for the most part.

but all the white does make it a bit harder on the eyes.

Also did I miss something or can you only get the search features from the home page?

While the brightness is tough on the eyes I think that the tiny font and the squeezed in info like post number and last post time, etc., is what makes reading much, much harder. Maybe this is deliberate to nudge some of us old foggies aside?

Search is on the right (under the ads) and at the top-right.

I'm a little surprised by the trouble with the white background, but it seems to be a popular complaint! I thought it was a pretty safe choice based on Google, Yahoo, USA Today, etc. Even so, I'll definitely keep that in mind as we work on it!

There is SOOOO much white on a typical screen. Also, the smaller fonts make it harder as well. You appear to have changed the font to Arial from whatever the old one used to be, I found that one easier to read.
