Welcome to the new Tech Support Guy!
A lot of time and effort has gone into the complete redesign of the site. We really hope that you enjoy it. Our primary goal was to make the site clean and easy to use. We've tried to highlight commonly used features and simplify the experience. As you explore, please keep in mind that it is a work in progress.

I'll try to edit this part of the post to reflect the current progress, but as of right now I'm aware of that the following still needs to be completed:
- Create an easy way for users to mark threads solved.
- Update the "Welcome Guide" (now "Tour") to reflect the new design.
- Update the Newsletter and Store with the new design.

We also have some new features in mind, but I'm going to hold off on mentioning those until we get the major bugs fixed after this upgrade.

Thanks for your continued patience as we work on fixing problems that come up.

The new Look.
Where is the color on the background? I also was wondering why the posts are very compact from left to right. As I am training to be a Malware Remover, I notice that the HJT logs are very squished and make one line of the log into 2.

You've lost about 100 pixels horizontally vs the old style, but I think the HJT is probably the only place that really suffers for it. The good news is that we're going to have some new features for HJT people coming very soon. I think I'll also be giving them the option to turn off the side bar, but again that will come after the bug fixes.

Thanks, are you going to add a different color other than white to the background?

No, I don't think so. I like the traditional black-on-white feel. I think it makes it easier to read, like most newspaper sites.

I just added the option for Premium Members and Authorized & Training Malware Removal Helpers to be able to turn off the site bar. Just click on My Account at the very top, go to Edit Options on the left, and find Show Sidebar at the very bottom.

Now I'm off to get some dinner!

Thanks! I hope that it's well received overall. I know there will be a lot of people who will miss the old style, but I think it was time for a change.

After a loooong week of programming, I'm heading out to dinner! I'll check back later.

I'm not sure I like all the white, I liked a background so the screen isn't so bright. Is that something that's customized on a user basis?

I mentioned in the other thread, I'm not sure I'm 100% for the all white background, it makes the whole screen a tad BRIGHT.

It's definitely a lot brighter than the blue background we had before, but it's no brighter than you'd have when using Word, Excel, or reading many web sites. We'll give it a shot for a little while. I may switch to a light gray or something in time if it starts to bother me.

Thought you were still working at it -- hope you get persuaded not to go with this color style --

Fonts seem to be coming out smaller as well -- otherwise, no problem
