Visitor Messages
Who all see's the Visitor Messages?

Options has...

Visitor Messaging
This forum features a visitor messaging system that allows members to send messages to one another publicly.

If you do not want to receive visitor messages, you may disable the visitor messaging system.
Enable Visitor Messaging

You may limit the usage of your visitor messages to just moderators and your contacts.
Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators

But it says publicly. I got two Visitor Messages from two people and made a reply and even made one to myself I can not reply to. But I see you can delete them but it still shows up I guess like a thread with user name and time but now no message because I deleted it.
I turned this off because you got the PM that can be used and I know it is deleted when I delete it.
So how does the Visitor Messages really work.
Who all see's it?
Where is it at?
If I delete it does it delete it from others that you sent Visitor Message too?
How long does that list get if you used it all the time?
How can I delete all of it? See Image. One on top is the one I did to myself as a test.

I'm not sure I can answer all of your questions but I can answer some of them.

Everyone can see and read the visitor messages Harry, even those who are not logged in.

Since you've turned it off, others will no longer see the list of deleted messages, in fact, they no longer see a Visitor Messages tab in your profile.

I do think that deleting yours would delete those in other member's profiles.

You can also choose to show your Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators only. To do this, go to:

My Account --> Settings & Options --> Edit Options --> Visitor Messaging

Then, tick the box: Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators

I know we haven't re-linked the FAQs yet, but this still might help answer some of the questions:

It works just like many other social networking sites (MySpace, Facebook, etc). I know a lot of people don't really care for social networking, so you do have the option to turn it off.

We should re-link the TSG Rules as well.

Don't like everyone see things. If I do then I will post it in the forum. Yea I see the Recent Visitors list and even got people listed I don't know.
I have clicked around at the user in the thread and then seen ones that had visitor messages. But then you look at who it is from and go there on some your see the same message and others you don't so I guess the deleted the messages. But you don't see anything about a message being delete so guess that is something only the user can see in there own profile.

I don't go to any of those types of site and then if this is like them it is even a better reason to turn it off like I did.

Plus I know I have it turned off but what if I used it and deleted the messages would I get one long list showing like the image above?
I mean why is it there still if I deleted it?
