I agree that it definitely looks like it's part of the service we offer here and is very misleading. The person who actually did try it that was mentioned earlier on in this thread was not a new member and yet they still thought that's what they should do to get assistance.

I just saw it in both places, near the top of the page and on the right side.

The colors are VERY similar, but I don't think they're trying to be misleading -- I think their site just happens to use a similar color. Even so, I'll spend some time researching their history when I've got a few minutes tomorrow to make sure there are no serious and recurring issues that I think would be cause for removal. I think this is like a LivePerson or Yahoo Answers kind of site -- just like most community sites, they have a limited ability to check out their "experts." If everything looks OK, I think I'll just ask them to redesign the ad for the next run so it doesn't blend so well with our site. (Again, I seriously doubt that was done intentionally if you look at their site -- it's just a coincidence that they use a similar color as we do.)

I don't think anything is deliberate on their part......but it is very confusing for users here and can cause some bad rap for us from confused and discontented users thinking we are now charging, etc........

I find this very odd: While just viewing the "Scared of Advanced users" thread, this ad was there in both places. But then coming to this thread, the ad in both places was Google Chrome!

I agree, Laura. I just sent them a note to ask them to change it. Hope they don't mind.

I agree that it is very misleading, this user said:

Ironically, when I tried the "Ask Tech Support Now" feature (up above) & tried the Submit Question button, that too, did not work.
Is there any way to prevent people from thinking it is part of this site?

Look at Mike's reply right above your post, he's working the issue.

I doubt this kind of stuff happens instantly, he does probably have other things he needs to attend to.
