I tried to block them, but I guess it didn't work... I'm going to contact the ad manage who I think is in charge of it.

actually, aren't the ads supposed to have that disclaimer in little print that says ads by google - usually on the bottom-right?

Not always -- there is a new ad format called Modules where that information isn't displayed.

well, would solve some of the 'problems' that are being reported as 'looking' like the forum's own items if it was an implementable item
