Having trouble seeing TSG pages fully
I don't know where else to post it, but on many TSG pages I cannot scroll to the bottom, half of the post aren't visible.
This is happening in the last few days on 3 (THREE) of my computers. I went to a neighbour's computer and it happened there also. It happens o XP SP2, XP SP3 and on a Vista computer, with Firefox and IE7.

I can't figure this out since it is not just one computer. Right now I am on Server 2.
Am I the only one with this problem?
What could be causing this, someone please help.

Hello all!

Just on a whim, have you cleared out all your cookies? On Firefox, did you clear out the private data?

Not saying it will fix anything, but certainly worth a try....

Most times, pages not fully loading is the result of an overly full cache. Clear the temp internet files/cache and see if that helps,.

cleaning out cookies or anything, does not help, it is the same on several computers, different operating systems, different browsers, so it must be the site/

Now... I have had where only a part of the page "appears" at the top of the screen, but then I use the right scroll bar, the rest of the page is at the bottom. I'm not sure why that happens, but it has occurred to me.

you might also check your scripting permissions - tech guy did say in a post here on the forums awhile back that scripting is now required

- on the pc i use for my 'secured' sites, i have the scripting permissions mostly set to 'no' - with just a few set to 'prompt'

- on the pc i use for 'general' browsing, i still don't give every site 'free rein' to do as it chooses - a few 'no' settings but the rest set to 'prompt' - but then, i do have to deal with all the pop-up windows for each 'prompt' - which it seems is more than most people want to be 'bothered' with - [but then again, i dont leave the keys to my home or office hanging in the door either] - neither do i choose to let my bandwidth being 'stolen' and taken up by some site wishing to run a bunch of flash advertising that i really didn't WANT or NEED to see anyway -OR- spend the TIME it takes to download all their [XbadXwordsX] - nor do i choose to have to spend the time and frustration required with cleaning up the JUNK that leaves on my pc - the way i see it, IT IS MY PC!!!
[just my opinion - and MY 'best practices' which work for me]

good practice, daniel, but I don't think there is scripting in Firefox. I rarely use IE but scripting is restricted.
As I also pointed out, this is something recent, I am here since 2003, so this has not happened to me until now and never on several computers.
I'll monitor this again today.

Have you recently installed any new software? For instance, how long have you had Kaspersky?

Were all the computers having problems on dial-up as well? Dial-up will take a long time to load particularly if there are images.

thanks Cookiegal,
I am having trouble since the signature changes here. I have Kaspersky for a long time, I was always unfortunately on dial-up (I had to learn to have patience).
As I said, on 4 different computers is this happening. This laptop has nothing yet on it, my daughter is on highspeed in town and it happened there too. I rack my brain and maybe my fingers are jinxed, there is absolutely no connection or reason between the different computers, to happen.
Also IE 6, IE 7, two different versions of Firefox, and as I said, I am here for years, this is my homepage since 2003 and I hardly ever leave this site, unless a program (to fix something) is recommended here. I never use youtube etc because of speed.

This is only happening on TSG. I tested some other sites now.
To answer here, I have to refresh page several times until I can get to the bottom.
I am going to believe in ghosts soon.

Does it happen all the time, often or only once in a while?

Have you noted it on any other server besides 2?

I hopped onto 2 yesterday and I'm on 2 right now with no problems.

technically, there IS a difference in 'script', 'java script' and 'scripting' - but the end product is pretty much the same thing

as a check, try this site:

then click 'support' - if it doesn't STAY on that page, you DO have scripts enabled....

do you use a 'hosts' file?

do you use one of the 'hold-your-hand' applications? [also called site advisors] [mcafee has one embedded in their antivirus]

anytime a web page is updated, then a person's settings for usage should be also......

when i made mention of a couple items here on the forums, i was told -
"well, it's working for ME! no-one ELSE is having any problems! YOU are having the problems, so it must be something YOU are doing! YOU can try a different browser!"
- oh well.....

today it seems to work on 1 computer, I haven't tried the others yet. I am on Server 2 again. I will read all the links from daniel_. I don't seem to know as much as I thought I knew.
It seems to happen always on server 2.
I only update Kaspersky and Malwarebytes.

Hmm... Hard to believe it's the board, I've been on for a couple of hours and I've hit a lot of posts and threads, no issues here.
