IRC Channel
We should have an IRC channel I think, that way it's easier with live support. maybe on irc.gtanet.com ? Something like #techguy

We actually used to run an IRC server back in the day, but it was the subject of far too much abuse and too little usefulness that we had to shut it down. It's too difficult to moderate a live chat, is difficult to find volunteers to help for free live, and any help provided isn't archived to be able to help people in the future who may have similar problems. We still open a chat room on special occasions (most New Years, for example), but it's only for fun and not for tech support. Might be fun to do that again sometime soon. TSG Halloween party? Everyone come in costume?

No way I'll do live support, much to time consuming for the limited benefit for all the reasons stated.

It's so much quicker to handle lots of requests using the forums. The real killer is waiting around while someone types in a long response or has to reboot and/or run diagnostics, etc. It's just not that productive.
