Arrow I'm getting message here that active X is not safe
Why is tech support guys using not safe active X ? I'm getting a message that active X is not safe and saying do I want to allow it or not.

On other web sites I have no problem just here.

It is probably an advertising banner that wants to use that unsafe ActiveX. Techguy.org doesnt require any activeX modules.

Because having a site of this size on the web takes money. Unless you and everyone else wants to donate or be required to pay to access this site, there has to be some way of providing the money required to keep this site on the web.

It's ironic that a website that fights adware prompts its users to install adware to support its financial demands

Nothing is installed from TSG. Ever. There are no prompts to install anything. What are you talking about?

Haha yes, but shouldn't we try to find out what advertiser did that and get that advertiser's ad removed from the techguy ad rotation?

I'm not aware of any ads that use ActiveX. Some used to, but I haven't seen that in a while -- primarily because many browsers (like Firefox) don't support it.
