A suggestion for getting resolved threads noticed.
It would be nice if there were an option to select resolved on a thread starters reply applet that would automatically mark a thread as resolved on the forum boards. That way, if a member chooses to do so, on their final post on an issue they could check that option. That way moderators would not be solely responsible for marking a thread resolved as I assume they are now. I see many threads that are never marked as resolved even though they are. Not to lay blame. I know there are a lot of posts to look after and it may be difficult at times to determine by replies only if a thread is resolved or not. This would give members a surefire way of stating that an issue is resolved.

Great idea.

BTW ... Love your self portrait, Bryan. Was that BEFORE or AFTER all the studying for the A+?

That was after the A+ and also after being stuck on a boat with several family members for about 2 hours.

This idea/request has come up a number of times and still there is no resolution. It does take Moderator "privilege" to edit the title of a thread - but this would seem to be relatively easy to overcome with a "hack". Therefore, since no solution has been implemented I have determined that the reason must be...
  • the "hack" isn't so simple after all
  • the next version of vB will address this without a hack
  • only Moderators can determine if a question/problem really is resolved
  • TSG only wants Moderators to determine if a question/problem really is resolved
  • other reasons which I do not know but which I am certain are valid
Bottom line: I would like to see a solution, but I have quit worrying about it.
