No Smilies in IE6 but OK in NS
Hello,

Help most gratefully received re following problem

pvc suggested I post here: See following from previous discussion in other thread.

Ok! I guess something is wrong with IE... but if she can copy and paste the codes and not feel this way then may be we can be about it. pvc

T2,
If you're really - - with it, I would suggest you to create a thread in the Site Suggestions... forum and ask Mike about it.

But before that just check if an IE repair can do it. pvc
........................................................................... ..............................

I cannot get smilies in IE6 when clicking icons. Nothing at all appears in the message field. OS Windows98SE, 316MB RAM.

Have tried uninstalling IE6 and reloading IE5 to see if that clears the problem, but am met with "you have a previous version installed
errors", so cannot do this.

Thanks you for any help.

My IE6 is fine--have you downloaded SP 1 yet? It is fairly new. See if that corrects your problem. However... I find that typing the smilies in is just easier. Stopping to click the button breaks your momentum while typing and you usually need to click your cursor on it and delete or add a space or something... and it only inserts it in the end. I find it much easier to type it in and that way your fingers don't leave the keyboard... just my two cents though.

Resolved - My Smile has returned!!
Hello,

Thank you Deuce. I can see it would be quicker to type the symbols, thanks for the info.

Hewee had said that the problem was Java realted and I had an idea, while merrily cycling to work this morning, that it might be connected with Security settings for Java, and lo and behold the following were disabled;

Allow paste via script

and

Scripting of Java Applets.

Enabled them and all is well.

So I can smile again!

Bye,
T2

Wow, T2, I had no idea you were female!!! I don't know why, but I had this image in my mind that you were a 40-50 year old gent with whiskers!

Just now took a look at your photo (which one are you BTW?) and I sit here corrected!

Hee hee hee

RandyG - Is it my British sense of humour that mislead you? Or my keen sense of fairness, etc.

Don't know whether to take that as a compliment or not, but I will. Geewizz, the mind of a man in the body of a woman.

Yes, female, always have been and always will be - if my hormones behave themselves.

I am second on the right in that picture - it was taken when we
were at technical college, learning to type and write shorthand.
Dig the dresses! I found out lately that two of the class emigrated to Aussieland, and I have been in touch.

Long live e-mail!

I intend to put a later pikkie in my profile shortly.

Bye for now, have a good day as you good folks say.
T2

ps - Were you any good at hewee's hemale/shemale game!!!

Hello Deuce,

I bet you all have a competition when a newcomer signs up.
Is it a he, or is it a she?

Funny, isn't it, how you get a picture of someone in your mind and it's never what you think.

Best wishes for the day,
T2

phew!! I got off easy on that one!!

I haven't gotten around to playing the shemale game.

As to a male mind in a female body, we won't go there, right guys!!!!!

I have been accused of having a female mind in a man's body, cause I am a lot more caring and nurturing then most men, but I disagree, cause I'm too darn logical to have a woman's mind!!!

RandyG

You got away with it this time all right - but wait for the next!

Best wishes
T2

(p.s.
Because my name is Penelope, I was always known as either Tuppence or Threepence, hence the moniker.

I had thought of changing it to T3 in the light of the "great controversy", and advertising it as the "easy, painless way to add a digit to your name". What do you think? Shall I do that?
Would it be just too, too ?
