That one is only if you want to quote multiple posts so you click on it for each post that you want to quote (that's why each post has one) and then type your reply and when you post all the quotes will be there.

Ah-ha!!! I got you this time. LOL! It's not that reply that is a multi-quote, but that plus sign is. I hit several of those reply links in some posts here and as you can see they are not here. Hover your mouse over that plus sign and it says; multi-quote. I haven't tried it, but that is what it says. We don't have to hit both the plus sign and that reply for multi-quote to work, do we??

click on the "reply" button on the lower right side of a post..
the "advanced reply" window will open, with that post included in quotes

if you desire to quote/include more than one post in a reply, then every post that your click on the "plus" button will be inserted in your reply, and once you click on the "reply"button, lower right of the last post you want included, the advanced reply window will open for you...

If all you want/intend to do is post a reply in a thread, without quoting anyone elses posts, then you must click on the post quick reply, or the go advanced buttons, at the very bottom of the page being displayed on your screen, in order to reply to a thread.

That doesn't work for me for some reason. I've just tried it now again. Clicked that reply button on the lower right side of your post and nothing happened. Maybe I need to have a certain amount of posts to my name in order for that to work? I doubt that though. I did have to have 50 posts in order to have a siggy... but that reply button should always work and it doesn't. Of course, because that's what you're use to. I guess in Europe they are use to driving on the left side of the road, so driving on the right like we do here in the US would seem strange to them. We can just drop this issue. Like I said, it's no big deal. This was just a "comment and/or suggestion" is all. Nothing of importance really. And maybe I'm the only one on this forum who has view set to "Newest First", so making a change would only affect me in that case.

As a Brit whose lived half my life in Southern Africa I do assume that cars, vans, bikes etc drive on the left. However for most of Mainland Europe driving on the Right is actually the rule; it arose in France and was spread through the empires of Napoleon and later Hitler to the rest of the continent.

That sounds logical. I have seen people reply and it does seem they haven't read the whole thread. Not sure it pertains to where the reply button is located. Some just post their thoughts no matter what. Not sure I've seen that on this forum though, but have on others. I haven't been on this forum very long though either, so maybe just haven't noticed yet.

Hey! You're right. I hadn't really paid any attention to that before, but upon your mention of it, I checked it out. I did, however, see a box on the first page where the thread started. Seems to me that "Show quick reply" button at the bottom is useless. I never use it. There's a reply button just above and left of it that I use. If a quick reply box is needed for some reason, unbeknownst to me, why not just have the box open on all pages? Hmmm... good observation you had there. To be honest, I've never gotten it to work the way it's apparently supposed to either in FF or IE. I have no need to quote several posts so never pursued it. It will work if I click on the + sign and then click on Reply on the left side, the quotes will be there but if I click on the Reply that's on the right side on each post it just takes me to the Quick Reply box.

I just used the multi-quote function with the big blue "Reply" button and, as you can see, it works fine in FF v4. It also works using the small "Reply" next to the "+".

It is a web browser much like IE (internet explorer), but is often considered better for being more secure, more standards compliant (it displays pages as they're meant to be displayed) and more extensible (you can customize it to your liking with a huge number of addons and themes). It's just a thought and to be ignored at everyone's pleasure. But if you are able to read writing upside down, you could swivel the monitor 180 degs. That wouldn't solve the scrolling necessity but that "top" feeling might find satisfaction.

LOL! Now why didn't I think of that?
Another idea is to stand on one's head and read. However, that would present the inevitable result of blood rushing to the head and may cause dizziness. Posts are too easily misunderstood as it is without the reader being dizzy. Strike that as a bad idea... or atleast don't try it without a spotter who's also good at proof reading.
