Webspark is free and it gives you a limited free MSDN subscription.
Azure requires a credit card but you get the free time up to it's value.
You don't have to use azure.
The only thing I saw is you need to post a website in 6 months and
report it through the program to keep the program active for 3 years.
You can self host your site if you want to.
Please read the program agreement.
I am downloading server 2008 and visual studio 2010 right now.

If you download server 2008,you need to install the web version
to get the key to work.
It won't work if you install the others.
There are multiple versions on the disk.
Visual studio has it's own key built in,so it just
activates itself.

I had some questions about webspark because there were
differences in the Faq's and downloaded program requirements
and seemed to be a program exit fee.

I confirmed that you are entitled to use the program since you can apply being a new company or individual that is starting out in the field of web application development and design. Additionally, you have to meet the requirements in order to be accepted into the program.



Additionally, the program has no cost and runs a term of 3 years, at which time the participant will have Graduation Offers available. They will be sent via email.
