Hi,
I've created a form with with five choices: four radio
buttons and a text box. The user is asked to make a
selection.

(RB) Choice 1
(RB) Choice 2
(RB) Choice 3
(RB) Choice 4
(RB) Other [text box]

If the user selects "other", they should "have to" type
something in the text box.

I can get the text box to be required, but then even if
the user doesn't select "other" the form wants the user to
enter a value in the text box. I need the user to be
required to enter something in the text box if and only if
they choose that radio button.

Anyone know a script that does this? Or, since my time is limited, can FrontPage do it?

Look up java form validation on google.

add this to you validation script

if (document.form_name.radio_button_name.checked==true){
----------------------------------------------

front page elemnt specific validation goes here.
ie...
If(name)of_textBox.value==""){
alert("fill in the text box mofo");
document.form_name.textbox_name.focus();
}
---------------------------------------------------

}

replace the form_name and the radio_button_name with the names of your elemnts in the form. be sure you name them too.
dont copy the stuff between the lines
that may be tuff to figure out, but you can get a reference here

Unfortunately, I didn't get to use the script, because I had to go live with my form, so I don't know if it works. The results I've gotten are ok. Most everyone who clicked the other button, also typed something in the box. I'll check out that link. I create a lot of forms for contests and such for a site I create, so it should come in handy.
