DirectX and VB (newbie)
hi guys n gals,
this is all I want to do (I say all but I can't get it to work)

I have a picturebox, called picbox1, I want to create an EMPTY directdraw surface with that picbox as the owner and draw some text into it. The program is running in windowed mode. I want to be able to draw text, remove it when I want, and then draw it again. How do I do it????

Thanks for all help
Brommers

P.S. (EDIT) using VB

why not just create a label and change the label's text when you need to, instead of creating a directdraw surface and all the other stuff needed to use directdraw.

I'm only suggesting this because I don't remember how to create a directdraw surface in VB. Try looking at www.planet-source-code.com, they've got some great DX examples for VB (at least they did).

Try this one in particular, it demonstrates using text with DX:

Hope i could in some way, shape, or form help.
