Read this.

http://www.w3.org/TR/2002/WD-xhtml2-...od-object.html

If you need more info, just say so

In short, it's a class id which points to a Microsoft ActiveX object.

Different IDs point to different functions or programs.

For example, you can embed an mpeg file into a webpage with windows media player by using the classid for windows media player.

Actually I read that.

So what is this number all about? Where do you get it from?

You get them from the registry.

This will explain.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...components.asp

Navigate to the subpages of that link by using the left pane.
