Webserver stress test
I've been asked to conduct a webserver stress test on a website. What is a stress test? How do i conduct it? Are there applications available thru which this test can be conducted? If yes, then which ones?

Thnx

I've never done a stress test, but a buddy of mine told me about this site: http://www.clanproductions.com/index.html

That is all I know!

If it is an IIS server MS offers a stress test tool for free.

Its an apache server RockN... although i would like to know how one does stress tests using IIS.

Anyways.... i've done a bit of research since yesterday and have learnt about a few programs which might do the trick for me... like Paessler Webserver Stress Tool, Web Essence, WAPT etc. Has anybody used these? any comments on these apps.?
