hi there ok i have never done a website in my life and to tell u the truth i thinks its a mistake me attempting to make one..but never mind...anyone know what the code is to add a backgroud to your site? i know its a stupid Q but anyone help plz...thanx

I know you have sorted it, but for anyone who needs the answer, here it is.
<body background="image location here">

If you want to make the background static, or watermarked as it's also known, add the word "fixed" ie:
<body background="image location here" fixed>
