VB6 variable passing
Greetings,

What is the proper way to access variables from a class module on a form?

I have a class module (BeginClass) :

Public Class_uname As String
Public Class_pwd As String
Public Class_svr As String
Public Class_initcat As String

Public Sub entrypoint(buname As String, bpwd As String, bsvr As String, binitcat As String)

Class_uname = buname
Class_pwd = bpwd
Class_svr = bsvr
Class_initcat = bintcat

end sub

The login formpasses the beginclass the 4 variables:

Private Sub sendvariables()
Dim bc As BeginClass
Set bc = New BeginClass
Call bc.entrypoint(uname, pwd, svr, initcat)
End Sub

If I open a new form, frmMenu, how do I access these 4 variables?
It seems the more ways I try, the behinder I get.....

Accessing a single instance of a class from multiple distinct forms in the same project can be accomplished by defining the instance in a module that is part of the same project as Global or Public. I'm not saying that this is the best way to do it but it works.

forgive me for not knowing what that is..
I'm a DBA subbing for an MIA programmer.. its been a (long)while since I have done and GUI programming..but I need to start (soon!)

Anyway, thanks for your reply....

"....accomplished by defining the instance in a module that is part of the same project as Global or Public..."

I undertand what this means, but how do you do that?

I do not understand how to correctly pass connection information in a multi form program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the VB IDE add a new module (not a class module) the same way you add a form. In the new module enter the following ...

Public cls as New ClassName

The "cls" instance will now be available to all forms within that project.
