Web site question...
ok, i'm making a website, like a personal web page. I wanted to have Software, Hardware, and other Electronic reviews - kinda like those found on CNET and ZDNET. MY question is, do I have to contact the manufacturer of the item i am reviewing so that I may post it on my site?

So long as you put the TMs Rs etc in the right place, and don't copy someone else's images...then you won't run into any trouble. The only reason you would run into trouble is if you copied someone else's review, used someone else's images, or posted bad reviews (just kidding).

Well if you had to contact them, then you would never see a bad review of any product.

good luck

I don't think they could sue you if what you say in your review is actually correct. Diss away!

If you want to be taken seriously though, don't say "Product X is sooooooooooooooo s**t!" Say "Product X is good at A, B and C, but it isn't as good when you try and do P, Q and R." Be as positive as you can.

If they threaten/blackmail you to give them good reviews, tell them that they were only your opinions of the product and that if any of it is incorrect, you will sort it out. Be nice.

Have a good, lawsuit-free Christmas!
