Angry Linking to the same document/page
Hello Everyone,

Can anyone suggest how i can get links to the same page to work in a document. The links from the table of contents to their corresponding headings work fine as a webpage but as soon as i paste the document on yahoomail or hotmail and email it then the links do not work.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What program are you using to create these links? Are you copying HTML? Have you tried a different email program (non web)? You must have HTML turned on in the outgoing mail if you want it to be sent that way.

hi..

..thanks for the reply. I used word to make the links and everything works fine on word or when i view the document as a webpage but when i paste it into yahoo or hotmail even with the html turned on then the links open to a new window of the yahoo/hotmail login page whereas i want them to go to the headings on the same document.

Yahoo/Hotmail control things to a great extent. So that is the reason your links don't work as expected.

I think it is most likely the HTML that word is inserting. Word is probably based on Frontpage (being microsoft) and lots of code gets put in un-needed. Yahoo and hotmail probably can't read it. You should try a different HTML editor or write it yourself if you know how.
