c++
visual basic
anything of that nature will allow you to code your own game of sorts.
If you really want to learn to do it, and you have a copy of any modable game such as the first person shooters, you can do that.

They even have tutorials of how to create your own mods. Start small on those and then work your way up to full mods.

If you dont have any programming skills, then the best one ive found is gamemaker, which is free.

http://www.cs.uu.nl/people/markov/gmaker/

Theres also Games Factory, which has a 30 day trial period, which basically just lets you design the game, not create it. This one is somethin like 300 bucks, so id go with gamemaker.

Hiya

Moved you to Developement. When I got mine, though never really used it much, it was from Borland. Many comp mags, like PCPLUS, give you free copies in the disks. But if not, try here:

Bloodshed Dev-C++ is distributed under the GNU General Public License.

Go to http://www.bloodshed.net.

For a list of free compilers, go to http://www.bloodshed.net/compilers/index.html

Cheers. All the best for your new programming venture.
